Responsibilities
Core Reserving: Manage quarterly and annual loss reserve reviews for regional commercial and specialty line clients.
ResQ/Arius Modeling: Hands-on execution of traditional reserving methods on existing client models and new construction.
Data Reconciliation: Use SQL to query databases and validate client data extracts against financial statements. Responsible for investigating data anomalies or shifts in claim reporting patterns before modeling begins.
Client Presentation: Serve as the day-to-day contact for accounts. Responsibilities include presenting ultimate loss estimates directly to client management and handling technical communication with external auditors during year-end.
SAO Documentation: Draft formal actuarial reports and opinion memos required for Statements of Actuarial Opinion.
Team Collaboration: Peer review work and provide daily guidance to 1-2 junior analysts assisting on projects. The role also involves occasional collaboration with pricing and predictive analytics teams on cross-functional accounts.
Process Evolution: Contributes to modernizing standard workflows including automation and implementation of machine learning for individual claim modeling.
Qualifications
Required
6+ years of P&C actuarial experience, heavily focused on loss reserving or financial reporting
ACAS designation or higher
Prior experience utilizing ResQ, Arius, or an equivalent corporate reserving suite
Extensive experience with SQL and interaction with data warehouses
Experience presenting actuarial findings to corporate clients or senior leadership
Ability to work out of our Greater Philadelphia office on a hybrid schedule
Preferred:
FCAS designation
Prior experience in an actuarial consulting environment managing multiple external accounts
Practical familiarity with Python or R for automating workflow tasks an ad hoc analysis
Interest or educational exposure to machine learning applications within a reserving context

Job Description
A major insurance software company is seeking an Actuarial Pricing Consultant and Senior Actuarial Manager for the formation of a new domestic team. Responsibilities are primarily focused on management and delivery of P&C pricing projects using proprietary software. This may include:
Up to 30% travel to US client locations
Complete project ownership including communication with and delivery to client c-suite
Rate setting, new product pricing, profitability forecasting, and filing support
Independent project management in a remote setting
This role can be filled at a range of experience and responsibility. Compensation will be generously commensurate with candidate qualification and expected travel, and will be available early in the interview process.
Qualifications
This role is available at multiple levels. The Actuarial Pricing Consultant should meet the following qualifications:
3+ years of experience in P&C pricing and/or consulting
ACAS or near-ACAS
Prior experience with data architecture and/or pricing software
Prior experience with client-facing and/or leadership roles
The Actuarial Pricing Manager should meet the following qualifications:
5+ years of experience in P&C pricing and/or consulting
FCAS or near-FCAS
Prior experience in leadership and project management roles
Prior experience with advanced ratemaking techniques
