Company Description
Seeking a Senior Pricing Actuary to own the complete pricing lifecycle of an emerging homeowners offering. This role will call for modern actuarial expertise in pricing, modeling, forecasting, and filing, as well as regular collaboration with all line aspects from underwriting and product to claims and compliance.
Responsibilities
Own and direct pricing of primary homeowners product including maintenance and development of advanced ratemaking models.
Lead annual filing lifecycles including indication, submission, and objection response.
Collaborate with underwriting to provide quantitative and predictive support for agility and results.
Utilize expertise in data management and architecture to streamline reporting and analysis within actuarial and related departments.
Develop, adapt, reconstruct, and recommend actuarial tools to enhance decision-making, including evaluation of third party software and services.
Requirements
8+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
ACAS credentials required, FCAS preferred.
3+ years experience in homeowners or related lines.
3+ years experience in a filing or filing support role.
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Mastery of Python and SQL.
Familiarity with R and VBA.
Experience and familiarity with predictive modeling including GLMs, GBMs, and clustering methods.

Essential Job Functions
Strategic Pricing & Portfolio Management
Actuarial Leadership: Act as a lead consultant for various underwriting divisions, including niche market programs, captive/structured risk, and high-limit liability segments.
Tool Development: Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated pricing models and technical tools to be utilized by both actuarial and underwriting staff.
Assumption Modeling: Manage the analysis of loss trends and oversee the calibration of critical actuarial factors, including severity curves and development patterns.
Regulatory Compliance: Lead the preparation of technical documentation for rate filings and manage communications regarding regulatory inquiries or data requests from state authorities.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Performance Reporting: Oversee the production of periodic financial and operational reports, ensuring high standards of data integrity and executive-level clarity.
Operational Excellence: Modernize reporting workflows to eliminate manual bottlenecks and improve the speed of business intelligence delivery.
Strategic Advisory: Translate complex data sets into high-level insights, providing underwriting and claims leadership with recommendations to optimize bottom-line results.
Qualifications
7+ years of P&C experience with time in leadership roles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Working knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python, or similar languages
Ability to manage projects independently
Ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society is strongly preferred.

Job Description
A major insurance software company is seeking an Actuarial Pricing Consultant and Senior Actuarial Manager for the formation of a new domestic team. Responsibilities are primarily focused on management and delivery of P&C pricing projects using proprietary software. This may include:
Up to 30% travel to US client locations
Complete project ownership including communication with and delivery to client c-suite
Rate setting, new product pricing, profitability forecasting, and filing support
Independent project management in a remote setting
This role can be filled at a range of experience and responsibility. Compensation will be generously commensurate with candidate qualification and expected travel, and will be available early in the interview process.
Qualifications
This role is available at multiple levels. The Actuarial Pricing Consultant should meet the following qualifications:
3+ years of experience in P&C pricing and/or consulting
ACAS or near-ACAS
Prior experience with data architecture and/or pricing software
Prior experience with client-facing and/or leadership roles
The Actuarial Pricing Manager should meet the following qualifications:
5+ years of experience in P&C pricing and/or consulting
FCAS or near-FCAS
Prior experience in leadership and project management roles
Prior experience with advanced ratemaking techniques
